The Stakeout Trailer
I’ve been wanting to do someone dying in someone’s arms for a while, and finally got to shoot it with Danni and Sophia – both of whom turn in Oscar-worthy performances. The Stakeout also features the debut performance of Sydney, who was great to work with so expect to see more of her this year.
Two detectives are on a stakeout, when they strike gold and spot one of Humber City’s most wanted gangsters entering a warehouse. After a brief discussion, they decide against calling for back-up because they don’t want to share the glory.
After splitting up to search the warehouse, Danni is choked by a henchman. Danni’s gun goes off, alerting Sophia to her partner’s danger. Sophia shoots the attacker and rescues Danni. However, the gunfire brings the woman gangster running and she bursts into room screaming at the cops with her pistol drawn.
Sophia throws herself in front of Danni and takes a bullet to her belly, but she manages to unload her revolver into the gangster. Bullet after bullet pounds into her, turning her white shirt blood red. The criminal collapses to the ground, coughs up blood, and dies on the warehouse floor.
Sophia falls into Danni’s arms and the two end up on the floor, Sophia laid in Danni’s arms. Danni’s calls for an ambulance and desperately tries to save her partner’s life. Sophia writhes in agony as she tells Danni about the pain and the blood. She knows she’s a goner, as the blood is dark which means the bullet hit a kidney or her liver. She coughs up blood and dies just before the sirens of the ambulance come into earshot.
