I love the old grindhouse flicks, splatter horror movies, and giallo films from the 60s and 70s. So Grindhouse North is really my love letter those.

I’ve been a one-man DIY filmmaker for a couple of years now. When the pandemic and lockdowns started in early 2020, I decided to use my time to learn how to make films. So I watched some YouTube videos and got started.

Since then, I’ve been learning about cinematography, directing action, and how to use special effects. And I’ve done that by shooting, editing, and releasing short films every week, listening to the feedback. So it’s really just been a process of doing and refining.

Shooting during the pandemic was challenging as it really limited how many people I could have on set – and it’s the main reason why so much of my content to date has just featured one or two people.

The next phase of Grindhouse North is really exciting for me as a creator and storyteller. It will feature stories told over several episodes, with recurring characters, as well as the brutally high body counts fans have come to expect from Grindhouse North.
